Taking the Road Barefoot

I wrote these poems in the first half of 2024 as I started my journey as an out trans woman. They were a tool to help explore transition, what I was learning as a result, and the steps I took with that new understanding. They’re frank about the pain I felt at the time, often capturing feelings I wasn’t sure how else to express. They’re also joyous as I found new friendships, new successes, and new ways of being more myself.

Hopefully something of value shines through for you, too.
